Seaton is situated on the Jurassic coast between Sidmouth and Lyme Regis, at the mouth of the River Axe, overlooking Lyme Bay. A traditional Victorian Devon seaside town, Seaton has a wonderful pebble and sand beach, promenade, a pretty harbour and pedestrianised town centre with individual boutique shops and a mixture of Victorian and Edwardian architecture. Sheltered by the white cliffs of Beer Head and the red sandstone of Haven Cliffs, Seaton appeals to holidaymakers of all ages. There are many cafes, restaurants and pubs to suit all tastes in Seaton as well as nearby villages.

There are many attractions in and around Seaton including Seaton tramway, where visitors can ride on one of the open-top narrow gauge heritage trams which travel between Seaton, Colyton and Colyford. Crealy Adventure Park, the Donkey Sanctuary, Beer Quarry Caves, and Pecorama Gardens with its miniature train. Charmouth is famous for fossil hunting and is only a few miles away.

Seaton is home to the famous Electric tramway, which runs alongside the Axe estuary, and nature reserve where herons, cormorants, kingfishers and a wide variety of ducks and waders abound.

Seaton is an ideal location for walkers. Holmleigh House is almost on the coastal path for further information about walking the south west coastal path, so we make an ideal location to take an overnight break. Luggage transfers can be arranged.

Cyclists too will enjoy exploring the unique scenery in and around Seaton. Holmleigh House offers a secure lock up for bikes, (Holmleigh House cannot be responsible for losses or theft of bicycles).

Seaton has excellent X53 local bus services, the bus stop is a few minutes walk from Holmleigh House, should you wish to have a car free holiday. This excellent, reasonably priced service takes you through pretty country side, stopping at Lyme Regis, Bridport, Weymouth, Wareham, Poole and Bournemouth. The service will also take you to Exeter.
